The first week of 2017 is gone and the reality is that every beginning is not easy. Assimilating to the changes of the new year may take a few days. Is that happening to you?

At the start of a new year, many people propose goals they wish to meet in the coming year. I (Rodrigo) also made some resolutions. But it is strange, because in the first days of the new year, I usually just feel tired after the holidays and vacation time that recently ended.

But you have to take the beginning of the year as an opportunity to charge your batteries in order to continue giving your all and improving yourself.

In previous years, I have set some goals that I have fulfilled and others not so much. 2017 was no exception. I set personal goals and challenges, and also some family goals—many of them included Ligia.

And there is a physical and mental challenge that Ligia and I have decided to make for 2017.

And that challenge is:

Hike the highest mountain in Costa Rica: El Cerro Chirripó … ¡Wujuuuuu! 🙂

El Cerro Chirripó reaches 3,820 meters (12,530 feet) above sea level. This makes it a hike of approximately 20 kilometers uphill.

This information is to give you a very small idea of what we are going to do this year, specifically in April 2017.

Many Costa Ricans have visited this place and most of their comments express how wonderful this place is. That is why, every week until April, we will create a blog with a summary of what we have done to prepare ourselves for the hike.

Here are some pictures of this beautiful place:

As the days get closer, I will be anxious, thinking of the moment when I will take similar pictures with my camera and be at the highest mountain of Costa Rica.  hahaha 🙂

If you have any questions or comments, do not forget to write them at the end of this post. Pura Vida!
